Delete Account
You can delete your Word Cards account and all personal data using the options below.
1. How to delete your account
You can delete your account in two ways:
- In the app: go to Settings > Delete Account. This starts deletion of your account and the personal data we hold in Word Cards.
- By email: send a message with the subject “Delete Account” to support@wordcards.app from the email address you used to create your account.
2. What data is deleted
On your request, the following data is permanently deleted or anonymized:
- Your account and profile information (name, email, user ID)
- Your learning progress, quiz results, streaks, and cloud backups
- Custom lists, favorites, device and synchronization records
- Notification tokens, preferences, and technical records that Word Cards is not legally required to retain
3. What may be retained for a limited period
Limited records may be retained only as required for legal obligations, tax/accounting records, store or payment disputes, security, fraud prevention, abuse investigations, legal claims, or platform audits. Some payment and subscription records may be retained by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat under their own policies. Word Cards does not store payment card details.
4. When it is deleted
In-app deletion is applied immediately where technically possible. If manual verification or a support flow is required, your request is processed within 30 days at the latest. Limited records that must be retained are deleted, destroyed, or anonymized once the required period ends.
